Investigation Fee

$225 - For first-time applicant admitted in another jurisdiction and $175 for applicants admitted in another jurisdiction who reapply within one year and have previously paid $225 within that year.

Late Filing Fee

$250 - Payable by each applicant who files application after the filing deadline. See Rule 4.05.

Late Filing

$250 additional filing fee due at time of filing application. See Rule 4.10 (3). Note: No late applications will be accepted after December 30. The late applications and all fees must be received by the office of the Board of Bar Examiners on or before December 30 in order to be considered by the Board. (See Rule 4.05, No Exceptions Will Be Made, Regardless Of Cause.)

Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination

Your attention is drawn to Rule 7.05 regarding the Professional Responsibility Examination. (MPRE). Each applicant must pass the Professional Responsibility Examination as well as the Bar Exam prior to admission. The Oregon Bar Exam and the MPRE must be passed within 24 months of each other. Applicants must receive a scaled score of 85 or more to pass the MPRE.

Applicant Must Be Recommended For Admission

Rule 6.15 Applicant must be recommended by a majority of the Board of Bar Examiners. Subject to review by the Supreme Court, an applicant may not be admitted to the practice of law in Oregon unless at least a majority of the total membership of the Board of Bar Examiners considers the applicant to be qualified as to the requisite character, learning and ability.
